Description:
The World Bank Group is seeking a consultant to calculate the cost of environmental damagesusing a predictive model that can be applied as soon as an accident/incident occurs. As part of the environment compliance, Saudi Arabia's (KSA) mandate requirespolluters to remediate and restore environmental damages through compensationfor environmental damages caused due to anthropogenic activities such aspollution and other unauthorized activities. Although the regulations inKSA specify fines for environmental damages, the fines do not cover the costsof remediation/repair of environmental damages that need to be collected ascompensation from the entities responsible for damages.The World Bank seeks to adopt a manual for calculation ofcompensation for environmental damages based on sound methodologies andaligning with international best practices for assessing the compensation forenvironmental damages and adapted to the national context of Saudi Arabia
